about

Johnny No is laying the foundation for their third full-length album with a sporadic release of three singles. With its versatile mix of various rock and blues styles, “XX” (pronounced “Double X”) serves as the lead single for this soon-to-be titled upcoming release. “XX” is a companion track to the songs “Yo Mama” and “Sunday Morning Breakdown.” “Sunday Morning Breakdown” will be the last single released, and “Yo Mama” will be included on the full album.. Set to thunderous beats and relentless guitar work, Johnny No uses this track as a fiery sonic reflection of love gone wrong in the worst possible way.

After tracking in the band’s personal studio, Memphis transplant Curry Weber added his magic behind the mixing board. With hours logged behind the boards at Sun Studios and Ardent Studios, Weber is well-known in the Memphis music scene and has worked with bands including the North Mississippi All-Stars, Yo Gotti, Skillet, Susan Cowsill and many more. Recently, Weber engineered Midnight North’s release “Live from Peaches Records.” Veteran Azalea City producer/engineer Matt Damico (MattyMix Productions) smoothed “XX” through the mastering process. Damico is well-known for his work at Integrity Studios and Day 6 Entertainment and is one of the city’s go-to engineers. Johnny No will continue working with Weber and Damico until the album is complete.
